WHY ARE WE “CHILL BROS.”?

Aside from being Super Chill and catching the occasional West Coast swell…It’s really an abbreviation of our family name, The Chillura Brothers.

it all started when…

Chillura Brothers and a Chillura Sister (between the ages of 4 and 12) laid out plans to open a much-needed Scoop Shop for their neighborhood in Tampa. We would serve the best homemade ice cream in town, and the whole neighborhood could walk there every night after dinner. It was a childhood dream until about 12 years later, when Max (the middle Chill Bro), ranoff to the motherland, Bologna Italy, to learn the art of ice cream making. Upon his return, we developed a truly all-natural, American style ice cream made from absolute scratch, with passion, care and the best ingredients we could get our hands on. We renovated a historic building in Ybor City where we could both make and sell our Ice cream, built out a full-scale Ice cream Kitchen, and began serving really good Homemade Ice Cream.

When it's all said and done Chill Bros is about having a good time. It’s a spot for however you want to chill, any day or night of the week. You can expect a warm welcome, a comfortable seat, a fresh playlist, the smell of homemade waffle cones, and an ever-changing line up of the best artisanal ice cream you can find. So, swing on by, grab an Ice Cream and Chill.

ICE CREAM BASE WITH AN OLD SOUL

We make our own Traditional, All-Natural Custard base with 5 simple ingredients: Florida milk and cream, egg yolks, pure cane sugar and a dash of salt. It’s what gives Chill Brothers ice cream its rich flavor, and velvety smooth texture. Better yet, you won’t find any unnatural stabilizers, emulsifiers, gums, starches, coloring, corn syrups or sweeteners...Not here bro!

THE FINEST INGREDIENTS

We are constantly searching both locally and the world over, to bring the very best ingredients and flavors into our ice creams and desserts. Our Sicilian Pistachio ice cream is made with Pistachios from the slopes of Mt. Etna in Sicily, our whole vanilla beans come in from Madagascar. And a little closer to home, we use fresh Plant City strawberries, Polk County orange blossom honey, Buddy Brew coffee, and fresh zested Florida oranges, to name a few. We don’t do this to be fancy...they really are the best!

WE MAKE OUR OWN

...Mix-ins, toppings, baked goods, candies, sauces, waffle cones and flavorings. Our team of Pastry Chefs and Master Gelatier craft every original recipe from the ground up to ensure every sauce, caramel, brownie chunk or honeycomb crisp has that perfect flavor and consistency in your scoop of ice cream. If it’s in our Ice cream, odds are we made it in our SoHo Ice Cream Kitchen
